We are very happy to announce that the WFEO Young Engineers/Future Leaders (YS/FL) will be hosting a Youth Convention in Kuwait during the month of February from the 10th to the 12th 2013. The location chosen for this auspicious event is at Courtyard Marriot, Kuwait City.

This event holds high importance to the youth as it will be a massive gathering of engineers from all over the world. We are glad to declare that UNESCO and the Kuwait University will be a main part of the convention. We are proud to host this event as it is done under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.WFEO YE/FL is organizing the Youth Convention for the benefit of international young engineers and engineering students. The convention consists of three themes on which we have invited speakers to give their contribution on:

- Development of project management and finance.
- Promotion of entrepreneurial and marketing skills.
- Development of young engineers responsibility towards society.
- Success stories.
2- Engineering and Technology
- How to make science, engineering and technology education attractive to young people.
- How to avoid drop outs from science, engineering and technology studies.
- How to Promote of university/industry partnerships.
- Engineering knowledge.
- Life-long learning.
- Development of young engineers’ contributions to the engineering profession.
3- Globalization and International Relations
- Sharing experience and knowledge with young engineers from different countries.
- Use of innovative technologies.
- Creation of an international network of young engineers.
- Creation of a database of engineering and technological active youth associations throughout the world.
- Ethics.
The Young Engineers/Future Leaders Committee provides support in the form of education, knowledge-based sharing, and workshops to promote the professional development of young engineers.
Our committee is a forum in which we share best practices and participate in creating universal engineering standards.
We form strategic alliances and partnerships with other young engineering organizations from WFEO member countries to facilitate collective efforts and global project initiatives sponsored by the committee. Perhaps most importantly, the committee provides a solid leadership foundation for young engineers, shaping them into the future leaders and participants of other WFEO committees. We hold official delegates from each WFEO member country where one member shall serve as the committee chair. These members hold their positions for tenure of 4-years.
Our latest achievement starts with the cooperation with UNESCO
as they will be one of our chief guest organizations at the convention. We hope for the UNESCO Director General, Mrs. Irina Bokova, to attend the event and present her contribution on behalf of UNESCO as this is very beneficial for our event.
We are proud to announce that the UNESCO Assistant Director General Ms. Gretchen Kalonji will also be attending the venue.
The UNESCO Global Water Experiment conducted by UNESCO, will be held in Kuwait during the Youth Convention.
Kuwait, despite its rapid pace of development, has never lost its valuable heritage and offers many places of interest to all age groups.

A group of our young engineers have listed our several touristic attractions for our participants to get a taste of our heritage and traditional ways of life.
This step is our key focus in our plans where we aim to reach out to the maximum number of youth to participate. We are setting up booths in malls, public areas, cafes, universities etc. These booths are to provide detailed information and assistance to the locals.
All necessary information of the history as well as current activities of the YEFL committee which will act as a great tool in expanding and linking with the National youth organizations to get more involved and participate in the conference. You can find the information on the WFEO website : www.wfeo.net and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
